Whilst we have been in the process of updating our telephone system from copper, there has been some disruption to the service. Our broadband and card payment system are currently functioning as normal. For some reason, our office telephone number, 01746-762124, is currently down. However, telephones are functioning as normal at the stations on 01746-762052.

We are currently without telephones or broadband due to a BT fault, which means our card machines are temporarily unable to function. While we wait for BT to rectify the fault we can only accept cash for passenger fares. We apologise to passengers for the inconvenience.
Summer 2023
A full repaint of the Bottom Station was finished in 2023, restoring the building's traditional livery and ironwork.

On Friday 5th October 2018, Bridgnorth Cliff Railway featured in a question on BBC Television's long-running quiz show 'Mastermind'. During the general knowledge round contestants were asked: at which Shropshire town on the River Severn is there a funicular railway connecting High Town and Low Town? The answer, of course, was Bridgnorth.

The original edition of 'Bridgnorth And Its Castle Hill Railway' was published on the day the cliff railway opened, having been written by its founder George Croydon Marks. The fourth edition of Marks' booklet has now been published by The Bridgnorth Castle Hill Railway Company Limited, with a new foreword and updated material.

On 7th July 2017, Bridgnorth Cliff Railway celebrated the 125th anniversary of its opening by Mayor John Anderson under the supervision of its founder Sir George Croydon Marks. Buckingham Covers teamed up with the cliff railway to produce a commemorative cover to mark the milestone.

The Shropshire Star reported on the upcoming 125th anniversary of the opening of Bridgnorth Cliff Railway, marking the start of a year of celebrations leading up to the anniversary date in July.
29 July 2016
On 28th July 2016 the Cliff Railway was visited by a group of railway engineering academics who had been attending a workshop at Stourport-on-Severn. Taking time out from the workshop, they made a private visit to the railway, having travelled to Bridgnorth in a dining-car on the Severn Valley Railway.

The company secretary welcomed Michael Portillo to the railway for filming of 'Great British Railway Journeys', bringing the line's history and engineering to a national television audience.
